Refund policy

If you cancel before we submit your formation documents to the state, we refund our fee and the state fee in full. Email us from the address on your account, and the refund reaches your original payment method within five to ten business days.

We pay the state filing fee when we submit your documents, and no state gives it back, whether the filing is approved or not. Our fee for the formation is earned once the filing is submitted, and we don't refund it after that, because the work it pays for has been done.

If the state refuses the company name you chose, we ask you for another one and file again at no extra charge from us. In the states we serve, the state doesn't charge a second fee to resubmit the same filing. If that changes, we'll tell you before we file again.

If a filing is rejected or delayed because of a mistake we made, we fix it at our cost, including any state fee the fix requires. If we can't deliver something you paid for, you get that part of your payment back in full.

The IRS issues EINs on its own timetable, which for founders without a Social Security Number is measured in weeks. We apply the day your company exists and chase it until the number arrives. An IRS delay isn't grounds for a refund. But if the IRS refuses to issue a number for a reason we could have avoided, we refund the EIN part of any expedited service you bought.

Registered agent

The first year is included in your plan. The renewal is charged on the anniversary, so cancel before that date and nothing is charged. If a renewal has already been charged, you can have it back within fourteen days, as long as no legal notice has been served on the company in that time.

US mailing address

Where we offer it, it's billed monthly and you can cancel at any time. It runs to the end of the month you've paid for. We don't refund part of a month, because the address was held for you for the whole of it.

Annual compliance filing

Refunded in full if you cancel before we start preparing the report. Not refundable once it's been prepared or filed.

Certificates, amendments, apostilles and anything else from the services catalogue are confirmed with you by a specialist before you're charged. Once we've submitted one to the state or another party, it's treated like a filing. Our fee is earned, and any state or agency fee has already been paid.

We reply within one business day, and if a refund is due, we issue it to your original payment method within five business days. Please talk to us before raising a dispute with your card company. A chargeback on a filing that's already been submitted freezes the work, and costs us both time we'd rather spend fixing whatever went wrong.
